The AKA is a national kinesiology body representing the professional interests of kinesiology practitioners and the personal interests of students and the public.

As a Professional member, you are entitled to insurance coverage at special premiums negotiated by the AKA.

As a Registered Specialized Kinesiology Practitioner or Registered Advanced Kinesiology Practitioner you have automatic provider status with several Australia-wide health funds, enabling your clients to get rebates if they have the right cover.

If you pay by cheque, all cheques must be payable to Australian Kinesiology Association.

Associate membership

For people interested in kinesiology. Includes 4 In Touch magazines per year. 
Current annual membership fee $ 44.00 (incl GST)

Student membership

For people studying kinesiology for Practitioner status. Including 4 In Touch magazines per year.
Current annual membership fee $ 44.00 (incl GST)

Kinesiology Instructor membership

Kinesiology instructors teach professionals who wish to pursue a carreer in kinesiology or who want to enhance their skills, and non-professionals who wish to improve health and wellbeing for themselves, friends and family.
Current annual membership fee $ 88.00 (incl GST)

Professional membership

The Australian Kinesiology Association has created a national standard for kinesiology practitioners which is administered by the Australian Kinesiology Practitioner Registration Board.

Application fee upgrading to
   Registered Kinesiology Practitioner (formerly Level 1)                           $ 33.00 (incl GST)
Application fee upgrading to
   Registered Specialized Kinesiology Practitioner (formerly Level 2)     $ 55.00 (incl GST)
Application fee upgrading to
   Registered Advanced Kinesiology Practitioner (formerly Level 3)         $ 77.00 (incl GST)

Joining fee: (once-off fee, payable with first membership fees) $ 33.00 (incl GST) Upgrade fee when upgrading to the next level $ 33.00 (incl GST) Membership fee will be calculated pro rata when application is accepted.

Current annual membership fee for 1st September till 30th August is $ 150.00 (incl GST).

Australian State Branches

The AKA also has State Branch Associations formed for local interest and state needs. The purpose of the local branch associations is for networking, news, class dates, events etc, and to hold meetings to formulate policy, promote kinesiology in their area or to raise extra funds. Administration

The AKA is managed by the National Committee (NC), which is comprised of delegates elected by and from each Branch Association.

Except for the day to day administration details, matters of policy are agreed to by the NC after each representative has sought advice, feedback or voting consensus from their respective association meetings.This way, members of the AKA are able to have input on matters of policy and their future.
